Local student on Jeopardy! no ‘Hunger Games’ knowledge

While Nikki Airi from Worthington can tell you the bordering countries of Belize and is a French wiz, she couldn’t get the name of the main character of “The Hunger Games.” What is Katniss Everdeen? pushed Airi into elimination on Jeopardy! Wednesday night. The 16-year-old still went home with second place and $2,800 from the game show. An 8th grader from Texas took out Airi to move onto the next round, according to the Dispatch.

Previously July 17, 2014 Worthington student on Jeopardy! She can’t say how well she did, but 16-year-old Nikki Airi from Worthington can say that she was on Jeopardy! and her show is slated to air Wednesday. She competed in part of the teen segment of the competition with 15 other students from across the country. At first she completed a 50-question test online and told ThisWeek Community News she was surprised when the producers called her back to see if she wanted to continue the process and taped the show in March.
