A fatal crash took place on the east side of Columbus near Noe Bixby Rd. and York Lane North. Around 10:30 p.m. Sunday night, two cars crashed when the driver of a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix lost control of his car (going northbound on Noe Bixby)  and crossed over the center line into oncoming traffic. A 2013 Hyundai Tucson (going southbound) struck the Pontiac’s right side. The crash caused the Pontiac to catch fire while the driver was trapped inside.

After firefighters had contained the car fire, the Pontiac’s driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are investigating the crash.
