Your caffeine levels and moral center never need to drop thanks to the recently opened Roosevelt Coffeehouse. The downtown coffee house (300 Long St.) not only serves up delicious coffee and treats (seriously, look at these donuts), but also partners with local and international organizations in order to give back. So now you can feel good about your 8 cup coffee habit. Or is that just me … do people drink less than that? I mean, I just really like coffee – and now there’s a good reason/cause! Thanks Roosevelt for motivating my caffeination. (deb)

The Roosevelt Coffeehouse opens with pop-up hours

The downtown coffee house has opened pop-up hours at its 300 Long St. location. Roosevelt Coffeehouse is aimed at being the middleman between consumers and people in need. Through their coffee sales, they are partnered with organizations to give back to those in need both locally and internationally. Through purchases, money goes toward Gracehaven, Blood:Water Mission, International Justice Mission, Invisible Children, among others. Its first pop up tips went to Gracehaven helping sexually exploited children.

Coffee shop coming near CCAD

The relationship between the rising hipster population and the rising coffee shop population is likely directly correlated. Lo and behold a barista haven is slated to open its doors in August near CCAD. The Roosevelt Coffeehouse, a non profit cafe, is hoping to transform 300 Long St. into its home. The coffee shop hasn’t had a physical shop to date, and the downtown opening will be the first of its kind for The Roosevelt Coffeehouse. Owner, Kenny Sipes loves the site for a few specific reasons. The space has something nearly nothing in the city has: parking.
