Fugitive treasure hunter will fly “Con Air”
When Tommy Thompson, the treasure hunter who’s facing federal criminal contempt charges, is extradited to Columbus, he’ll be flying a very specific airline: Con Air.
Besides being a 1997 action flick starring Nic Cage’s awesome hairdo, Con Air is actually a real fleet of (secret) planes that transports prisoners to courthouses and jails all across the US. Con Air is just the nickname for the air portion of the Justice Prisoner and Alien Transportation System, which is part of the U.S. Marshals Service.
I really hope the real Con Air does a better job of landing the plane than they did in the movie … (deb)
