The Holidays are time to come together and on Tuesday, local cook-it-yourself dinner party hosts and chefs and like a million other things, The Kitchen, is having their last Taco Tuesday before Christmas.

This month their Taco Tuesday events have had a philanthropic twist. With each Taco Tuesday benefiting a local charity, giving guests the chance to treat themselves while paying it forward.

On December 20th, the event will benefit local wonderwoman and all-around awesome business, Aunt Flow.

“We landed on Aunt Flow because we wanted to revisit supporting partners that are near and dear to our hearts.  Her mission and enthusiasm for bringing basic needs to ladies who would otherwise struggle to receive them is a noble endeavor. We love Claire.” Said Anne Boninsegna and Jen Lindsey, owners of The Kitchen.

So what’s on the menu for this final Taco Tuesday before Christmas? Chinese style tacos.

“We landed on Chinese tacos as it is our tradition each Tuesday before Christmas.  It’s a nod to the Christmas story, which is one of our personal favorites.” Boninsegna and Lindsay said.

The menu will include an unique twist on traditional favorites with items such as: Kung Pao chicken taco, shrimp and broccoli taco, sweet and sour tofu taco, black pepper mushroom taco, Mongolian beef taco, a char siu quesadilla and a variety of sides, including: crab rangoon dip with wonton chips, chili pork riblettes, egg drop soup and miso soup. There will also be Chinese almond cookies available for dessert and two signature cocktails – the Shanghai cocktail and the Lychee-tini.
