Jeni’s Founder, Jeni, Nominated for Honorary OSU Doctorate

OSU is looking to nominate the Columbus’s ice cream queen herself, Jeni Britton Bauer, for an honorary doctorate in business.

“Hailed as a culinary genius and pioneer of the artisan ice cream movement, Jeni Britton Bauer has been perfecting her craft as a wildly imaginative ice cream maker and visionary entrepreneur for 20 years,” OSU said in their proposal. Approval is required by the board of trustees before Jeni’s can claim her honorary doctorate.

Jeni gave the summer commencement speech earlier last month at OSU to graduating seniors.

This nomination comes a week after an unfortunate FDA report that detailed the findings of listeria in Jeni’s production facility — specifically on the floor of their wash and prep areas.

Jeni’s released an official statement assuring customers that their ice cream is “100% safe.”

Will Jeni’s be Columbus’s official ice cream Doctor?
