Fresh Meat! North Market Brings in New Butcher Shoppe

Proprietor Robert Schuman and manager Richie Schuman grew up in a butcher shop as their grandfather and father founded Schuman’s Meats before they were born. Both brothers worked at the shop starting at an early age and remained with the business until their father retired.

When several North Market shops closed, like Curds & Whey and Bluescreek Farm Meats — the Schuman brothers saw an opportunity to fill a void and today they’re announcing that Two Brothers Butcher Shoppe is officially open and selling a wide variety of meats that can’t be found in “traditional grocery stores.” As well as “ready to cook” items such as meatloaf, kabobs, pinwheels and several varieties of sausage.

Columbus loves sausage. If there’s one thing I know it’s that — in the land of organic, farm-to-table dishes, the sausage is king.

“The addition and opening of the Schuman’s Two Brothers Butcher Shoppe is monumental. They are the epitome and the future of fresh, local, and authentic at North Market,” says North Market Executive Director Rick Harrison Wolfe.

Proprietor Rob Schuman adds, “My brother and I are so excited to be open! We look forward to meeting and building relationships with the North Market customers.”

“Fresh meats are such an important aspect of who and what we are at North Market, and it has been for 140 years. We are extremely lucky to have found the Schuman brothers who have unparalleled passion and skill for all things butcher related.” Wolfe comments,

Two Brothers will be located across from The Barrel & Bottle and just South of Little Eater Produce & Provisions.
