YUM! Brassica to open Upper Arlington location
Fast-casual Lebanese / Eastern Mediterranean restaurant Brassica has been a hit with customers at its original location in the Short North, and plans have just surfaced for a second location in Upper Arlington on Lane Avenue.
The restaurant’s build-your-own approach to pitas and bowls is a fresh take on the format, using ingredients like falafel, chicken shawarma, lamb bacon and roasted marinated vegetables.
Parent company Organic Trails Cafés LLC, which also owns Northstar Café and Third and Hollywood, say the project would take the place of a current Trek bike store and Backroom Coffee Roasters located at 1442 Lane Avenue.
Though the building is 8,000 square feet, the restaurant itself would occupy only 2,600 square feet, plus a patio facing Lane Avenue. The rest of the space might be used for company offices.
The final plan for the restaurant will be heard by Upper Arlington’s Board of Zoning and Planning on July 18, but chances are high it will pass, having received praise from Senior Planning Officer Chad Gibson, who said it fits with the city’s vision for Lane Avenue.
