A local Columbus punk band, Nuclear Moms, is now trying to find a way back home after blowing out their van in the middle of Oregon while on tour.

Nuclear Moms was due to tour 16 locations in the Western region, including Las Vegas, Seattle, and Albuquerque, but only made it to less than half of the locations.

The aptly named van, Big Red, was in a state of complete disrepair, forcing the band members to find scrap solutions on the middle of nowhere. Their only option to tout themselves and their gear to the nearest point of civilization was renting a massive (and expensive) U-Haul truck, drive to Oakland, and set up a GoFund Me page as most of their band and personal funds were exhausted.

Their funding goal of $1,300 is set to cover plane tickets and shipping for their band gear, though they will be selling some of it due to the exorbitant cost of shipping. recurring

In just 16 hours, the band met their funding goal, but on their funding page, they explain the goal is just the bare minimum to get them back to Columbus as quickly as possible and in time for school next Tuesday.

If you’d like to help these Moms get back home, check out their GoFund Me page, every bit counts!
