Cat café coming to Clintonville

So you’re a cat lover, but you have family members or a significant other who’s allergic, or you just don’t have time to care for a pet?

Not to worry, a solution to your cuddle-starved woes is coming to Columbus.

A new business called Eat Purr Love is putting coffee and kitties in the same room, inviting patrons to have a cup of joe or a scone in one half of the store, and to play with rescued cats in the other.

Set to open in July of this year at 3041 Indianola Avenue, near Studio 35 in Clintonville, Eat Purr Love takes its inspiration from the cat cafés that originated in East Asia, and have spread worldwide in recent years.

Eat Purr Love would be central Ohio’s first.

According to the café’s website, about 16 guests would be allowed in the cat lounge at one time (as to not overwhelm the cats), and the animals would come from the Capital Area Humane Society.

Most of the animals in the café would be up for adoption, so if you fall in love with a furry friend, you might just be able to take him home.

In addition to daily business, the café also plans to host special events, such as yoga with cats, painting with cats, and movie marathons–you guessed it–with cats.
