Does piloting a magic sleigh really translate to piloting a private Jet? Santa?

Nearly 4.3 million Ohioans will be on the road, in the air and maybe over the ocean (maybe…?) for the Holidays, joining a record-setting 103.1 million Americans that’ll be on the move between Dec. 23rd and Jan. 2nd according to AAA’s 2016 Holiday Travel Report.

’Tis the season for holiday travel, and this year more Americans will travel to celebrate the holidays and ring in the New Year than ever before,” said AAA President and CEO Marshall Doney in the release. “Rising incomes and continued low gas prices should make for a joyous holiday travel season.”

What are some of the factors contributing to this increase in warm bodies traversing the cold?

Lowered gas prices, more consumer spending, and higher wages. To put it simply, America is doing alright in a lot of aspects and it is showing in the Holiday season.

The gas prices are a particularly big contributor as they’re the second-cheaped in nearly a decade.

As far as travel destinations, AAA made a list of most popular destinations for the holiday season, based on AAA.com bookings.

  1. Las Vegas, Nevada
  2. Orlando, Florida
  3. New York City
  4. San Diego, California
  5. Anaheim, California
