UPDATED: Police-Involved Shooting Leaves One Dead in East Columbus

According to a press release sent out by the CPD Sunday morning, the police-involved shooting happened as a response from CPD to a homicide on Fountainview Drive. Damion Wade was murdered after an argument, according to witnesses. Investigators then developed a suspect and with the help of the SWAT unit, found the perpetrator on the east side of the city. A plainclothes officer observed the suspect transferring a gun from his waistband to his jacket and alerted responding officers.

A canine unit was deployed to stop the man, who then fled. Officers, the SWAT unit, and a canine companion caught up with them man, Jacquarius M. Robinson and ordered him to stop. Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots but said they had not witnessed the shooting. The suspect was struck multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene. 

This is the 14th police-involved shooting in Ohio.

According the Columbus Police Department, there has been a police-involved shooting that occurred around 10:50 Am and one person was pronounced dead on Knollwood Drive East.

The only details CPD has is that their SWAT Unit was serving a search warrant at the time of the shooting.
