Central Ohio job markets hankering for summer workers

Hey kids, we’ve got great news for you! Instead of spending your summer vacation poolside or getting into trouble with your best friends, you can spend it working one of the copious amount of jobs available in central Ohio. Hooray!

There’s been a lot of bad news lately about the retail market around here (Abercrombie & Fitch, Macy’s) but other markets are desperate for workers. Parents, if you’re looking to get your kid(s) employed this summer, check out landscaping, construction, warehouse, and restaurant jobs. If retailers step up hiring, these jobs could become more available by the second half of summer.

Today, only about a third of 16 to 19-year-olds are in the workforce. Allegedly, teenagers these days are spending the summer months getting a jump on college and volunteering (we’re not sure if we buy that completely).
