Our Lady of Guadalupe, a Catholic Social Services Center, is receiving a much needed and much appreciated funding boost to expand into a larger space, provide more programs for their community, and continue their outreach.

Catholic Social Services Center is using a $175,000 grant to move Our Lady of Guadalupe out of their tiny 3-car garage space, into a 6,000 square foot space, according to the Columbus Dispatch. If construction goes well and at pace, they could make the move as early as February.

The new space will be just a little ways away from the original location — on Industry Drive on the West Side.

The Dispatch wrote, “In 2015, the center served 625 families, 98 percent of which were Latino and 40 percent of which earned $5,000 or less, she said. The families received 87,000 meals and nearly 500 other services such as English and nutrition classes, health screenings, legal consultations and translation assistance.”
