New Clintonville Apartments Meant for Older Crowd

The Deco apartment building in Clintonville will be geared for residents 55 years and older, and will likely be the first city apartment building of its kind dedicated to an older generation.

The building will feature 114 apartments with an adjacent parking lot, pool, and a garden. Some of the smaller units will have walk-in showers to accommodate the needs of older residents, according to the Columbus Dispatch.
Though the apartments are aimed at residents who no longer wish to take care of a large home, they don’t exactly come cheap. $964 for the smallest one-bedroom unit to $1,649 for the largest two-bedroom unit totaling about more than $11,000 to almost $20,000 a year in rent.
Owners of the building say requests for leases have been increasing, but they are still in the search for retail tenants for the first floor of the mixed-use building.
