Nonstop Southwest flights from Cbus to San Fran suspended but don’t freak out

614now Staff

If you’re looking to get to San Fran from Columbus by air lickity split, sorry about your luck, pal. Nonstop Southwest flights from John Glenn Columbus International Airport to San Francisco are temporarily suspended from January 8 until February 17 2017. Cbus to LA is now the only nonstop flight to the West Coast out of John Glenn.

The brief hiatus is another example of airlines cutting flights to maximize revenue. But don’t freak out–this news does not mean Southwest is pulling out of the Cbus airport or that you can never fly to the West Coast again. Delta did almost the exact same thing in 2012 and now service once-daily nonstop flights to LA.

It just takes a lot of tweaking and investments to cement a nonstop flight destination out of a mid-sized airport like John Glenn. Plus, you can still get out to San Francisco from Cbus. You’ll have to tolerate one, measly layover, though. Tough life, huh?
