Reese-A-Palooza: A Celebration of Civic Leader Reese Neader

Late last year, Columbus lost one of their hardest working individuals, Reese Neader — a beloved civic leader, founder of Forge Columbus and microlending advocate who was instrumental in bringing KIVA, a small-business loan program, to Columbus. He passed away at the age of 34.

His impact on the Columbus community was felt through every aspect of the city, ranging from lobbying Mayor Andrew Ginther to develop new economic empowerment programs to creating internship programs for his alma-mater, Denison University.

Those closest to Neader have announced a celebration “of the life and legacy of our son, brother, friend, and favorite civic activist: Reese Neader.”

This public event is open to all, and while it’s free to attend, they’re asking for $10+ donation at the door, all of which will be placed in the Reese Neader Memorial Fund held at the Columbus Foundation.

The evening will include live music, food from Reese’s favorite local spots, and a DJ set by Reese’s dad, Jim Neader.

Reese has a massive network all over the world, and we want to get as many of his friends together as possible so PLEASE SHARE!!! If anyone from out of town has questions about getting here or where to stay or anything else, feel free to hit up me or Jack Storey and we will get you sorted. Thank you everyone, let’s throw a party Reese will be pissed to miss!!!” Andrew Dodson wrote on Facebook, urging those that knew him to help make this party as impressive as possible.

Reese-A-Palooza will take place at the Big Room Bar, 1036 S Front St, on February 11th — 6pm to 11pm.
