Johnson’s Real Ice Cream puts cherry on top of new Dublin shop

There is nothing like the sweltering heat sending your hard dip ice cream cone dribbling down your knuckles. What makes the sugary mess even better is when the ice cream is handcrafted and from a family-owned shop.

In 1950, Robert N. Johnson and his son-in-law began catering to Bexley’s screaming sweet tooth with Johnson’s Real Ice Cream. Sixty-seven years, four generations, and several experimental ice cream flavors later, Johnson’s is finally spreading the creamy wealth to a larger audience.

Johnson’s Real Ice Cream will be formally cutting the ribbon on their new Dublin location this afternoon. They’ve been slinging waffle cone of Angry Peanut ice cream for about a week, but now it’s official.

In honor of the birth of Johnson’s newest ice cream baby, they’ll be offering special deals today including children’s activities from 2- 10 p.m. and bogo scoops from 2- 11 p.m. Take a gander at your flavor options below.

Mouth watering yet? They’re sending the party into the weekend with way, way more ice cream deals and fun activities for all. Check ’em out here.

Moving forward, the Dublin shop will be open Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m.⎼ 11 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m.⎼ 11 p.m.; and Sunday Noon⎼ 11 p.m. They are located at 55 West Bridge Street in Dublin.

Go on, get that extra scoop, your dentists would agree.
