Summer is concert season, and there’s nothing better than enjoying good music outdoors in the open air. The 34th annual Dublin Arts Council Sundays at Scioto summer concert series kicks off this Sunday so clear your schedule!

The free concerts will take place on eight Sunday evenings, June 11 – July 30, 2017 in the Scioto Park amphitheater, 7377 Riverside Dr., in Dublin. The concerts begin at 7 p.m. and conclude at approximately 8:30 p.m. each week. Blankets and lawn chairs are encouraged.

This year’s lineup includes both central Ohio favorites and excellent regional talent in a variety of genres. Several of this year’s artists have gained national acclaim for their music. Rolling Stone magazine hailed 7 Bridges, who open the Sundays at Scioto Season on June 11, as “the best Eagles tribute band on earth.” Davina and the Vagabonds, performing the following weekend, have gained international fans on the festival circuit with stunning vocals and a powerful brass section.

A capella powerhouse Six Appeal will return for their second consecutive year to close the concert series on July 30. Six Appeal is one of the busiest touring a capella groups in the nation, earning honors such as a national title at the 2012 National Harmony Sweepstakes championship and singing the National Anthem at the 2013 Allstate Sugar Bowl.

Fans of the central Ohio music scene will be happy to find The Ark Band and PopGun on this year’s series lineup. The Ark Band, performing on July 9, is a crowd pleaser wherever they go. Their smooth reggae vocals and uplifting lyrics are the perfect blend for a summer evening in the park. Popgun, performing on July 23, comprised of members of some of central Ohio’s most notable groups, is one of the most popular bands in central Ohio.

If the excellent music lineup isn’t enough to get you out to the park this summer, the food and dessert offerings may convince you. Each concert will feature a different local food truck, with dessert provided weekly by Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams. Food trucks will range from fresh fare from Kinetic Food Truck to Argentine comfort food from Barroluco and everything in between.
