#FitColumbus: Follow Tonya’s journey from ‘stick to thick’

My name is Tonya Hickey I’m 30 years old born and raised here in Columbus. My passion is fitness and I take it pretty seriously. When I’m not managing the supplement shop I work for I’m hard in the gym and helping others with their own life goals. I’ve been competing in bodybuilding for the past 6 years placing top 5 in all my 6 shows. My goal in all of the competitions is to become an IFBB Pro Figure Competitor. I’m currently in prep and will take my next shot at the title at the end of July in Vegas.

With no formal schooling behind me I’ve been blessed to help coach so many people and teach them all the things that I have learned. I’d have to say there’s nothing more motivating to me than watching people achieve things they didn’t think were possible. Why? Because that was me. Now I know not everyone is going to be a bodybuilder but if I can inspire someone to get up and go for a walk then that’s why I do what I do. I just want to give back what I feel like I’ve been given. To inspire and motivate so anyone can have the opportunity I’ve had.
