The Breakaway Music Festival released their lineup today and it’s hip, hopping sweet. Travis Scott will be giving the crowd “Goosebumps” with his headlining set on Friday. Maybe if we’re lucky, we’ll get an opportunity to be a part of history in the Guinness Book of World Records if he breaks his own record of 14 consecutive plays of the aforementioned song.
EDM powerhouse, Diplo, of Major Lazer will also be blazing into the fest. Even if electronic music isn’t your forte, you’d have to be a serious wet blanket to not have a blast during a Diplo set.
Breakaway Festival has a reputation of reeling in artists just before they blow up so, of course, it’s worth mentioning the littler guys: Blackbear, 3LAU, Quinn XCII, Two Friends, among others are slated to take the stage as well. Peep the bottom of the lineup for support from local acts.
Breakaway will go down September 1-2 at it’s new location MAPFRE Stadium.
“We will be utilizing all areas of the footprint outside of the playing field to build a fan-first experience with a one-of-a-kind layout,” said Zach Ruben, co-owner of Prime Social Group, the festival’s production and promotion company. “Given the exciting talent on the lineup and our team’s dedication to the festival experience, we will make Breakaway Columbus’ premier music festival.”
