New Donut kids on the block, Duck Donuts is throwing a grand opening party throughout the weekend at their Westerville store — big news yes, but the bigger news is that they will kick off the festivities with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony tomorrow (Thursday, January 5th) at 10:00am and celebrate all weekend with giveaways, red carpet photo opportunities, FREE coffee with purchase all weekend, and a coupon for a FREE donut for the first 100 customers on Thursday and Friday (200 total).

There will be activities for kids and fun giveaways all weekend long.  The guest list for the Ribbon Cutting includes Westerville Mayor Kathy Cocuzzi, Janet Tressler-Davis, President and CEO of the Westerville Chamber of Commerce, and Samantha Smith, Communications Manager from Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio.

I mean, let’s keep going too because there’s more — raffle opportunities with the grand prize recipient receiving a Duck Donuts Columbus t-shirt, Duck Donuts mug, Duck Donuts frisbee, a coupon for three dozen FREE Duck Donuts, and a bucket of coffee. Yeah, what’s larger than a 64oz? A bucket.

All sales from the raffle will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House of Central Ohio as part of Duck Donuts’ #QuackGivesBack initiative.

“Central Ohio is home to more than a dozen colleges and universities. We’re serving the best warm and fresh donuts in the world, but we’re also very proud of the number of jobs we’re able to provide for people who are passionate about the hospitality industry,” says Russ DiGilio, founder and owner of Duck Donuts Franchising Company LLC. “With the expansion of each Duck Donuts location, we are adding 25 to 40 new jobs to the economy.”

Duck Donuts was founded in 2006 by Russ DiGilio in Duck, North Carolina. His intention? To solve a family vacation problem: “Our family wanted a place to buy warm, delicious & made to order!™ donuts, and when we couldn’t find one, we decided to start our own.”

By 2011, Duck Donuts had expanded to four Outer Banks locations and the donut business was so successful that DiGilio was continuously approached about franchise opportunities and by fans who begged for a Duck Donuts in their communities. The first franchise opened in Williamsburg, VA, in 2013, and as of January 4, 2017, there are 31 open franchise locations and 135 signed contracts.
