Monica Day wins award for her hairy situation

Forget about charisma, likability, and journalistic integrity, the HAIRRY Award is concerned about one thing and one thing only: the hair sprouting out of news anchors’ heads. And the 2018 award goes to Columbus’ own Monica Day.

Thanks to her full-bodied hair showing “no signs of thinning” she has won best hair by a female news anchor in the state of Ohio.

Here are some other qualifications her flowing locks smashed out of the park:

  • Current/Trendy Styling
  • Natural Colors (girl, you may look good in blue, but this is journalism. Natural colors, please!)
  • Complimentary to overall look and facial features

The HAIRRY Awards also note that “there seems to be a correlation between great hair and overall hotness.”

Here’s some tips Monica offered:

“Don’t wash it every day. Dirty hair is happy hair! Unless it smells, then wash it.”

She also added that she wanted to thank her mother for “passing down enough hair for two heads.”

NBC4i is full of good genes as Monica’s win follows fellow news anchor Mark Taylor winning the award back in June.
