CCAD Opening New School Store

Columbus College of Art & Design is announcing the grand opening of a new school store.

Ampersand Emporium — named after the ampersand in CCAD’s name — will officially open Saturday, April 1, at 9 a.m. after launching with a soft opening on Feb. 1. The grand opening will feature a 10% discount for anyone with a CCAD ID.

The store, located on the first floor of the Design Square Apartments building at 91 Cleveland Ave., came about as part of CCAD’s new three-year strategic plan.

“Part of our new strategic plan is focused on boosting our sense of school pride,” said Chris Mundell, Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students. “Our students, alumni, faculty, staff, and supporters are proud to be part of the CCAD family — and we want them to be able to show off their connection to the school with clothes, accessories, and other merchandise.”

Ampersand Emporium sells branded merchandise, including clothing, pennants, and novelty items like temporary tattoos, buttons, and magnets suggested and designed by CCAD’s Student Agency, which employs student

In addition to CCAD swag, Ampersand Emporium also sells food and drinks, including healthy and local options like Darista Dips and Shagbark Seed & Mill products.

The store plans to launch online sales this summer and include alumni work in the fall and student work at a later date.

Prior to Ampersand Emporium’s launch, CCAD sold a limited amount of branded swag through the CCAD Supply Store. That Supply Store will continue to sell supplies that students need for classes.
