Woman open fires at mother and infant

Police have arrested a Columbus woman for shooting at a mother who was holding her two-month-old baby. It happened before 7 p.m. yesterday at 483 S. Champion Ave.

A group of girls showed up to the mother’s house wanting to fight. When she refused to engage, 25-year-old Lavada M McCurdy took out a handgun and started shooting at her and her child. Luckily, McCurdy only managed to hit the car parked next to the mother and child.
