Columbus City Schools Receiving Major Improvements

The Columbus City School districts, with the approval of a last year’s levy, will be adding nearly 300 new teachers and staff over the next five years.

The levy also approved $200 million in building maintenance.

“Operation Fix It Initiative will provide some level repair to every single legacy building in this district.” Columbus City Schools Superintendent Dan Good said during the 2017 State of the District.

Good, also spoke on recent security concerns:

“In the coming year we’ll invest in additional safety personnel, new communication tools in our classrooms and a specialized safety training so that every staff member in any building can respond to a crisis.”

A long list of improvements followed, including better and healthier food options, more pre-K classes, and an app that’ll allow parents to follow and check in on their child’s performance in school.
