More grant money up for grabs for broke a** college kids

Out there somewhere in the abyss, is a group of people making it rain on low-income college students.

This group of people is shelling out some dough to be given to students at risk of dropping out due to finances. Students who attend The Ohio State University and fall within that group are eligible for the grants.

The kind folks behind the nonprofit Great Lakes Higher Education Corp. & Affiliates are putting on the program, called the Dash Emergency Grant Program.

Students will have to fill out an application inquiring about their financial situation. If their current state qualifies as an emergency, their expenses will be paid within two business days. Pretty snappy, ay?

The other Ohio colleges receiving funding are University of Akron, Cleveland State University, and the University of Toledo. Altogether, Great Lakes is giving $7.2 million in emergency grant funds to 32 schools.
