Don’t freak out if you see low-flying planes next week

614now Staff

Have you ever heard of gypsy moths? We haven’t either and it’s probably because the Ohio Department of Ag puts an end to them before they become a menace. Yellow planes will release a spray just 100-200 feet above treetops and buildings across thousands of miles in central and southeastern Ohio next week.

The spray’s pungent smell will disable male moths from sniffing out the females. Essential, the spray will take away the moths’ bow-chicka-wow-wow. No matting, no pesky offspring.

While the spray is powerful enough to ruin the sex lives of the gypsy moths, it is not harmful to birds, plants, human, and most importantly, pets.

Call  614-387-0907 or 800-282-1955 Ext. 37 after 5 p.m. for information about the aerial spraying.
