Grove City motel shut down, declared a public nuisance

Police shut down a Grove City motel this morning after they declared it a public nuisance. There were 362 police and emergency medical runs to the Star City Inn & Suites in 2016. Monthly calls have increased by 50 percent this year.

The calls range from complaints about assaults, to drug overdoses and prostitution. There was also a murder at the motel last year.

Dozens of residents of the Star City Inn & Suites were ordered to evacuate the facility. Social workers were at the scene helping people make alternative housing arrangements.
