Hate Crime Charges for “Allah is a Fraud Dum Dums” Vandal
Officials with the Ahlul Bayt Society Islamic Center in Columbus reported in February that a white male was captured on surveillance video vandalizing the door of the mosque with graffiti such as “Allah is a fraud.” The alleged vandal reportedly drove to the scene in a vehicle covered with pro-Trump and anti-Hillary Clinton slogans.
Today it was announced that Todd M. Williams, 44, will be charged with felony desecration, ethnic intimidation and criminal mischief for vandalising the Ahlul-Bayt Society Islamic Center on Dublin Granville Road.
The Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced the hate crime charges against Williams, “Here the message being sent is loud and clear – that hate crimes based on religious intolerance will be fully prosecuted,” said O’Brien.
