In the name of beer and the spirit of friendship, all the best players in local craft beer are coming together to raise St James Tavern up after being burned by an electrical fire last week.
All you have to do is drink.
Insurance money will cover a brunt of the repairs but neighbor and friend Seventh Son saw this as an opportunity to put in their two cents. After all, the brewery does attribute their very existence to the beloved dive.
Seventh Son has since recruited 19 other local beer manufacturers to take part in a mini beer fest in the name of St James Tavern.
Seventh Son (obvioiusly), Elevator, Wolfs Ridge, Hoof Hearted, North High, Columbus Brewing, Mad Tree, Fat Heads, Rhinegeist, Jackie Os, Dark Horse, Bells, Land Grant, Four String, Kindred, Revolution, Downeast Cider, New Belgium, Boulevard, and Lagunitas will each contribute a keg.
The mini fest is going down Monday, August 21 from 4-10pm at Seventh Son Brewery. It’ll coincide with the total solar eclipse. It’ll also concur with the day Seventh Son is typically closed so the space can be totally dedicated to St James’ cause.
The ticket proceeds will go towards stopgap funds for Michelle and the other staff at St James so that they may make a speedy recovery.
“The St James was my college and after college neighborhood bar. It was also the bar that made me believe a run down auto shop a half a block to the north on an undesirable stretch of 4th St could actually work as a small brewery,” said Seventh Son Founder Collin Castore in an email. “If there were no James there would be no Seventh Son.”
