A CPD officer shot a man last night during a domestic violence call at Wellington Way Apartments.

Joseph Delay, 35, was arguing with his mother and neighbors could see him holding a knife. Police say he was actually holding three steak knives and acting like a lunatic.

Officers ordered him to drop the knives but he refused. Officers zapped him with tasers once but he still failed to comply. He charged the officers, forcing a 9-year veteran of the CPD to shoot Delay. Witnesses on the scene as well as a cell phone video confirm the officer accounts.

Delay is in serious but stable condition. He will be charged with two counts of felonious assault on an officer.
