Teens attack south Columbus man with rocks

Last Friday night, a Columbus man walking his dog near Merion Village was the target for a handful of teenage boys’ reckless harassment. Allen Carrel was on the corner of Ann St and Reinhard Ave with his dog, Fred, when five teen boys hurled large rocks at his face.

A by-standing neighbor saw the attack and called for help, sending the boys racing to a car parked nearby.

There is no clear motive for the attack.

He sustained injuries and was treated at the Grant Medical Center. Police continue to search for the group of teenagers while Carrel is working closely with his area block watch to make sure attacks like the one he sustained don’t happen to anyone else.

Although these five boys are still galavanting about, Carrel will not be intimidated. He said he will continue to go on his nightly walks with Fred.
