Tanker Fire Site has Re-Opened

614now Staff

A tanker fire that killed one and closed down the ramp from US 33 to I-270 is being reopened by The Ohio Department of Transportation after repaving and striping the roadway.

There have been some questions concerning the safety of the ramp, specifically the design which shoots up and over the highway.

According to FOX28, ODOT is defending the bridge saying it is not a new style ramp and that it meets all safety standards. They also put the blame on drivers, saying there is a speed limit reduction that drivers should obey.

There is no official statement from Dublin Police on why the tanker crashed.
