Magic 8 ball says: Potential frost in future

This warm weather is a bow-tied invitation to get in your garden and plant. By all means, rake up the blackened layers of leaves and find homes for your perennials. But as Robert Frost once said, “Nothing gold can stay.” Especially in Ohio.

According to the NBC4i weather team, April 19th is typically the last freeze of the year. However, last year, the final frost didn’t come until nearly a month later.

Although the weather for this week looks stellar, beware because cooler weather is in the not too distant future. Hold off on your annuals– an unexpected frost could bring a quick and brutal death to your babies. It is recommended that you don’t begin planting your annuals or anything else sensitive to freezing until Mother’s Day, May 14. Look at that, now you’ve got a plan for you and your ma.

Bottom line: NEVER underestimate the power of temperature fluctuation in our fine state.
