Eleven artists from The Ohio State University’s Department of Art take over the galleries of Urban Arts Space now through Saturday, March 17 in Thesis 2018: Department of Art Master of Fine Arts Exhibition, a showcase of new creative work made by students on the verge of earning their master’s degree from Ohio State’s art department.

“It’s a marvelous opportunity to get a firsthand glimpse of a vital new group of emerging and forward-thinking artists in Ohio State’s art program,” says Merijn van der Heijden, Interim Director of Urban Arts Space, of this annual exhibition.

Along with the work in the galleries, a series of performances by Katie Couglin, Max Fletcher, and Alicia Little will complement the exhibition. Activating the artwork in new and thrilling ways, those performances will take place throughout the exhibition’s run, which includes a free public reception and celebration on Saturday, March 3 at 5pm.

Admission to the exhibition and all related events is free. Urban Arts Space, located at 50 W. Town St. in the Lazarus Building, is open Tuesday—Saturday 11am-6pm, with extended hours until 8pm on Thursdays.
