Rather than a pony or a new car, Platform Beer Co. got a new head brewer for its birthday. Technically, the brewery isn’t celebrating it’s 1st birthday until January 20 so Phil Blundred, formerly of CBC, was an early surprise.
Blundred will be focused on producing creative IPAs, barrel aged beers, and experimental brews, reports Drink Up Columbus.
In addition to the new head honcho, Platform has purchased a bottling machine that they’ll be rolling out for taproom-only bottle releases throughout the year.
The birthday bash will feature special canned releases of Hubris, Quadruple IPA, and Never Swim Alone, a barrel aged berliner weisse with raspberry and cocoa. It starts at 10am on Saturday, January 20 and the first 150 attendees will receive a little something from Platform.
Nothing better than getting a birthday gift when it’s not even your birthday.
