After 60 years of providing Columbus bookworms with discounted reads, Linworth’s Village Bookshop will be closing its doors.

10TV reports owners Arthur and Carol Miller cite costs and readers turning to digital books as reasons for the closure.

The already discounted merchandise will be more deeply discounted beginning June 3 through the end of August as Village Bookshop attempts to liquidate.

As the weeks go on, discounts sales prices will increase, reports ABC6.

The building will also be going up for sale June 3.

Village Bookshop is located at 2424 W Dublin Granville Road in Columbus.

The Village Bookshop closure follows the closing of Acorn Bookshop in Grandview and Clintonville’s Cover to Cover within the last 10 months.
