Calling all scooter lovers: Bird launches Columbus support campaign

614now Staff

If your life has been made easier or more opportune from electric scooters, Bird is ready to hear your story.

In a recent campaign, Bird reached out to the Columbus community looking to solicit positive feedback about their dockless scooters. The testimonials will then be used as ammunition to persuade elected officials to keep the service around.

Scooter supporters are encouraged to show out at Columbus City Hall Tuesday, September 18 at 4pm for a public hearing to share the impact Bird has had on their lives.

“We have really enjoyed serving your community and giving you the choice to save money on things like gas, parking, and ride-sharing services,” Bird wrote. “We need your help in letting your elected officials know how much Bird has helped your commute and your wallet.”

While some cities around the U.S., including Bexley, have vetoed the two-wheeled trend, Mayor Ginther is on the bandwagon as long as people are responsible.

“These new transportation options are giving our residents and guests exciting new options, but we need to balance this excitement with common sense,” said Ginther in a statement.
