Clintonville Outfitters embarks on new adventure

After more than 10 years of serving the adventure-seekers of Columbus communities, Clintonville Outfitters will be closing its doors for good soon.

In a lengthy notice written by the owner, Jonathan, he expresses his extreme gratitude for the community for supporting his business venture over the years but feels it is time to focus on their family.

“THANK YOU to Clintonville and the community that has formed around the shop for your love and support. Even with the growing number of options here in Columbus for gear, you have always thought of and fought for us and chose to spend your money here.”

The idea to close up Clintonville Outfitters, located at 2864 N High St, was planted during Jonathan’s trip to Nepal.

“The sense of love for all people, the importance of family and history, and the devotion to community really made me start to think long term about what I want out of my next 40 years.”

Though the brick and mortar retail store will be shutting down, the online store will continue through 2018 at least as well as the expectation to bring additional possibilities to the table.

“While yes, the brick and mortar retail aspect of the business is shutting down at least in its current form, 2018 will be a transition and positioning year for the brand. There is more to what we do than the retail side and I have plenty of ideas on how the future of Clintonville Outfitters could look, experiences we could offer, and opportunities to get people outside and even around the world!”
