In an effort to call out “fake media,” every entity from the large conglomerate Sinclair Broadcast Group was required to read a script to their viewers recently.
A video montage of dozens of reporters reading the mandated script quickly spread across the internet.
“How America’s largest local TV owner turned its news anchors into soldiers in Trump’s war on the media,” wrote Deadspin on Twitter about the video.

Columbus Business First calls the viewer backlash a “public beating.”
The same could be said for Sinclair’s stock prices, too, which are down 5 percent.
In their defense, Sinclair said the script was merely a “promotional announcement” and didn’t serve to achieve any sort of political agenda.
Would you agree?
Sinclair owns WSYX-6 and WTTE-28 in Columbus.
