Update: Turns out the vague inappropriate classroom activity that got one Hilliard teacher suspended was a bizarre morality test,  highly unsuitable for the age group it was given to.

Tenth grade Language Arts teacher Sarah Gilliam (her maiden name is Mandish) presented her class with a morality tests that began harmless but progressed into something much more bizarre.

The Dispatch reports the test began with scenerios like “A boy slams the door in his father’s face because he won’t let him attend a late-night party” and,  “a person doesn’t switch shifts with a co-worker even though the co-worker helped her out before by taking one of her shifts.”

But the questions escalated into topics like sex and odd behavior.

“A man kills a baby rabbit with a knife” on a live TV show.

“A brother and a sister decide that they want to sleep with each other — just once, to see what it would be like,” but use a condom and the pill.

“Sarah’s dog has four puppies. She can only find a home for two of them, so she kills the other two with a stone to the head.”

Students were tasked with responding to the questions using a sliding scale from “Not OK” in red on the left to “OK” in green on the right.

A parent of one of the students heard about the test and posted a notice on a Facebook page for Hilliard residents which triggered a frenzy, reports The Dispatch.

The school district responded by placing Gilliam on administrative leave, ordering her to remain off school grounds and banning her from contact with any student and/or Hilliard City School staff.

The investigation continues.
