Ohio’s stockings could be stuffed with medicinal marijuana

Your Christmas tree may not be the only green in the house this December if Ohio can come through with its projection to have small amounts of cannabis available for sale before the end of the year.

A spokeswoman for the Ohio Department of Commerce told the Columbus Dispatch that the first harvested marijuana plants in the state should be processed, texted, and on dispensary shelves next month.

Large amounts are expected to be available starting early next year.

Ohio was supposed to have medical marijuana ready for purchase by September 8.

10TV reports delays in certifying testing labs that gauge potency and examine plant products for contamination caused Ohio to miss the deadline.

More than 300 doctors have registered to become recommending physicians for patients who suffer from Ohio’s 21 qualifying medical conditions for marijuana.
