Some are saying this is unprecedented…across all sports. Blue Jackets players are seemingly dropping like flies and the most recent to that list is center Mark Letestu. He had an MRI on his groin which showed he had strained it and will now be out for 2 to 4 weeks. “I’ve never seen anything like this before,” general manager Jarmo Kekalainen said, the Dispatch reported. “It’s a nightmare, but what are you going to do?”
To recap (again) their goaltender is out, their highest-scoring defenseman, six of their top nine forwards and finally three of their four centers with the addition of Letestu, the paper reported. It’s looking bleak for the team that rolled into this season with high expectations.
