Jack Johnson not pleased with suspension
Jack Johnson is none to pleased with his suspension from 3 games after an illegal check. According to the Dispatch he said he was shocked and noted that the player wasn’t injured and returned for his next game without missing practice. He is now planning on mixing up his hard hits with smart plays to avoid further issues and is set to be back on the ice by Friday’s game.

Illegal check has Johnson out 3 games + $70K
Jack Johnson’s squeaky clean record with no suspensions for 502 games is over. The Blue Jackets defenseman will be suspended for three games after an illegal check in the game against Carolina. Those games will be Carolina, Tampa Bay and Washington and he will also give up $70,276 of his salary. The check made contact with Jiri Tlusty, and the NHL deemed that the hit could have been avoided and Johnson seemed to rise up to make contact with him.

CBJ’s Jack Johnson facing disciplinary action
It’s been a rough go for the Blue Jackets. They’ve lost game after game and player after player have gone down with injuries. In Tuesday’s game, defenseman Jack Johnson skated toward Carolina’s Jiri Tlusty as he skated through a neutral zone and had passed the puck. Johnson then looked like he sped up as he hit Tlusty and made contact with the Carolina player’s head. Tlusty did not return to the game following the play. According to the Dispatch, a phone hearing will be conducted Wednesday to discuss a possible suspension for Johnson.
