The famed leader of the Buckeyes, who went undefeated in the regular season for two years, knows a bit about winning and the serious toll it can take on you. Coach Urban Meyer will be part of an HBO segment “Real Sports” set to air Tuesday night at 10, and a large part of the segment focuses on his tenure at University of Florida and the struggle of keeping a winning record. Following his 2009 season he had lost 37 pounds and was “mentally broke.” Meyer took a year off coaching and Shelley Meyer revealed in the segment that she cried when she saw the Ohio State position had opened, knowing it could lead her husband to coaching and health issues again. During his time at Florida, he would take two Ambiens washed down with a beer just to be able to sleep and could barely enjoy his national championship win in 2008.
