In HeismanPundit.com’s Week 6 Heisman Watch, Barrett is on the list, nestled next to others like Georgia’s Todd Gurley and and Oregon’s Marcus Mariota. “This could’ve been Braxton Miller’s spot. In fact, if Braxton Miller was healthy and doing what Barrett has been doing, he’d be in the top three of the Heisman race right now,” the article said. But it’s not Miller’s spot, and right now Barrett is filling the spot better than most expected. There was of course the Virginia Tech slip up, but since then, the redshirt freshman has been earning his keep, earning 4,000 yards of offense which is nothing to sneeze at. While coach Urban Meyer has said that of course, come 2015, Miller is the quarterback, it seems silly, almost foolish to take Barrett out if he is named to the Heisman finalists.
