Off the injured reserve: Boone Jenner
Is this the new beginning for the Blue Jackets? At Tuesday’s game, left wing Boone Jenner will make his return and other players will (hopefully) be following as the team heals its massive reserve of injured players. The Blue Jackets are set to take on the Carolina Hurricanes at home. Boone had broken his hand in practice on Sept. 28. Left wing Matt Calvert might also be activated after his injury.

Jenner out for five weeks
The Columbus Blue Jackets, despite having lost their prospective players in their no.1 forward line, aren’t doing all that bad. Injured Boone Jenner is set to have surgery on his broken hand and will be out for about five weeks. In other news on the forward line, talks between CBJ and Ryan Johansen are set to begin again, but as Blue Jackets general manager Jarmo Kekalainen put it: There is nothing new to add.

CBJ’s forward line a goner
The Columbus Blue Jackets haven’t had the luck they were hoping for as the season approaches. Contract battles have left a questionable presence of center Ryan Johansen, and right wing Nathan Horton is still recovering from a back injured from the summer. That’s not even the latest. At Sunday’s practice left wing Boone Jenner broke his left hand when a puck hit his glove. Jenner is still getting more tests to see just how much time he will miss and how bad the break is, but with him on the bench healing, that leaves the entire no. 1 forward line in question. “That’s why we have a second line, a third line and a fourth line,” general manager Jarmo Kekalainen said, according to the Dispatch. “It’s an opportunity for some of our other guys now.”
