The Ohio State University linebacker, Darren Lee, sat down with NBC4 for a quick Q&A. But it might have just been a chance for his mother, NBC4 anchor and reporter Candice Lee, to put him on the spot.

Some highlights from the interview:

Q: “You get in trouble. Who are you most afraid to tell? Your mother or coach [Urban] Meyer?”
DL: “Oh. Coach Meyer. Coach Meyer. She can weather it a little bit. But Coach Meyer for sure.”

Q: “What do you do to get yourself really pumped up for a game like this that you know is so important?”
DL: “Well, knowing what’s at stake and right before a game, I look around at all of my brothers. I just look around at them, and just, that gets me motivated and gets me in the zone, and right before the game, I just take a seat on the bench and just close my eyes for maybe about a minute, and it’s go time from there.”

Q: “Young women who are going to be watching this are going to be saying, ‘Are you dating anyone?'”
DL: “No, not yet. But we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it also.”
