Noah Spence hasn’t quite been booted off the Buckeye football team yet. In a media conference Monday, coach Urban Meyer said that Spence is working out with the team “just for his well-being,” and said he and the team have to help the player get help. “I’ve been criticized…I’m not a big fan of dismissal, I don’t’ do that very often.”

Noah Spence hits the field again with a shaky future

A “sucker punch” was what Urban Meyer thought of the lack of Noah Spence on the field. Wednesday, the player who failed another drug test for ecstasy. Currently his place on the team has remained “undefined,” but  he returned to practice on Wednesday. “He actually practiced today, he’s doing things to get healthy,” head coach Urban Meyer said. “But he’s also — you know — we’re supporting him.” According to ESPN, Spence is set to begin a drug rehabilitation program.

Noah Spence failed another drug test for ecstasy, suspended

UPDATE: Noah Spence has been suspended indefinitely after failing another drug test once again for ecstasy, the Dispatch reported. Spence’s parents told the paper that he had come clean about a “medical illness” and that was their main concern. The results of the test were not known until late this week and he had been listed on the depth chart for the game Saturday against Kent State. His parents were called to Columbus Thursday night and Spence told them of his problem and is seeking treatment for it.

Spence’s parents did say that they hope he can at some point return to his career as a Buckeye.

Eleven Warriors has reported that sources have said Noah Spence has failed another drug test. His return was highly anticipated for the Buckeye team during the matchup against Kent State Saturday. He had not played in three games (Clemson, Navy and Virginia Tech) following a positive drug test for ecstasy. The site has reported Spence’s slot on the team is in jeopardy now. He had originally been suspended from the team for more than the three games, but his family appealed the decision saying Spence has unknowingly taken the drug from a drink at a party. Ohio State has yet to confirm the failed drug test.
